As Program Director of the UC Davis chapter, I oversee and support all of the committees and mentors, as well as serve as the mediator between our chapter and other SENDforC chapters/leadership folks. Yi Jen Chen
Assistant Program Director
& College-Prep, Professional Development, and Career Exploration Co-Director (CPC Director)
As the CPC Director, I brainstorm, plan, and execute exciting college preparation events for students to attend. Our events are meant to promote the idea for equity and inclusion, especially for students in low-income areas that lack the necessary resources to successfully propel their students forward academically and professionally. I get to work with an exciting group of like-minded individuals whose purpose is to also create a lasting impact on a student’s life. As the Assistant Director, I’m super excited to work closely with the leadership team to assist and facilitate the transiition of our club to move in-person activitives.

Alvin Tang
Program Adminstrator
I am happy to be taking part as the Program Administrator of the UC Davis chapter for SENDforC. I will be seen usually through emails to coordinate meetings, recording meeting minutes, and looking over the general schedule of the chapter. I also update the chapter’s calendar to reach out if you want to know the next workshop or event we will be hosting. Lastly I will handle all internal affairs and administration including individual’s memberships status within this chapter.

As one of the Financial Directors our job is to assist with any of the finances for SENDforC in the Davis chapter. This can be seen in different forms, whether it would be grant writing, fundraising, reimbursements etc.

Mentor Training Co-Director
As the Mentor Training Director I will work to create mentor training materials that help our mentors develop diverse skills and an open mindset.

Anjani Patibandla
Mentor Training Co-Director
In SENDforC, I head the Mentor Training committee along with my co-director, Almas. In this committee, we come up with specific mentor training materials that equip mentors with the tools and knowledge they need to be supportive and proficient mentors. These materials include items such as training manuals, videos, and quizzes. We also come up with topics to be presented during the general meetings in the quarter. These topics revolve around inequities in STEM and strive to educate club members and encourage discussions on disparities within the STEM community.

Fun fact: I love baking!! After getting into the Great British Baking Show during quarantine I really wanted to try out baking for myself and see if I could match their skills. I quickly found out that I could not but baking is a great way for me to relieve stress and the eating definitely helps too ;)

Eli Ester
College-Prep, Professional Development, and Career Exploration Co-Director (CPC Director)
As the CPC co-Director, I communicate with local schools to establish partnerships with SENDforc, while also assisting Yi Jen with event coordination and mentorship of the CPC committee. SENDforc's mission aligns closely with my interests in developmental psychology and education reform -- we provide resources that are, unfortunately, often, scarce for underserved populations, and I hope to continue that pursuit in graduate school and beyond.

As Track Co-lead of the Biology/Chemistry committee, I help oversee the progress of workshops and work towards developing a curriculum for students interested in Biology and Chemistry. My goal is to ensure students get an immersive experience in learning scientific concepts that include activities to encourage further research!

As one of the Outreach Directors, I help to publicize SENDforC by connecting with high school teachers, students, and community organizations interested in learning more about this program. I hope to spread the word about SENDforC's workshops as widely as possible in order to encourage more high school students to discover and pursue their STEM interests.
